Find out where to watch The Handmaid's Tale in Canada, starring Elisabeth Moss as June Osborne in Margaret Atwood's classic dystopian novel.
The Handmaid's Tale is, without question, the most popular Hulu Originals TV show yet.
Currently in its 4th season, this award-winning series has earned 180+ nominations and 75 wins, including eight primetime Emmys and two Golden Globes 🏆.
Based on Canadian author Magaret Atwood's classic novel (you know, the one you read in high school?), The Handmaid's Tale depicts a dystopian future under a totalitarian regime in the aftermath of an American Civil War, where global fertility rates have collapsed and the remaining fertile women (the Handmaids) are forced into servitude to bear children.
Yikes, and I thought Orxy and Crake (another book by Magaret Atwood) was a dark story...
So, is The Handmaid's Tale as binge-worthly as they claim?
There's only one way to find out and that's to watch it yourself!
(personally, I stream it on Hulu using a VPN)
Canadians can binge-catch-up-on (yes, that's a real word!) The Handmaid's Tale on Crave, the streaming service by Bell Media, which has exclusive access to the hit TV show for seasons 1-3 (season 4 arrives soon on April 28, 2021).
A Crave subscription costs C$9.99 per month and comes with a 7-day free trial.
For residents of Quebec, Crave is available through Videotron's club ilico streaming service.
Alternatively, you can stream The Handmaid's Tale on Hulu using a VPN (this is what I do). A VPN lets you connect to a US IP address so that you can watch Hulu like a US customer.
This is a great option if you're like me and you've reached the dreaded end of Netflix Canada, as Hulu has a massive selection of TV shows and movies that aren't available elsewhere, including the latest Academy Award winner for Best Picture, Nomadland.
A Hulu subscription costs US$5.99 per month (with ads) or $11.99 per month (no ads).
It comes with a 30-day free trial so you'll have plenty of time to check out what they've got.
